Long  curtains like these have been collected by me from England, France and USA, so I can offer many styles, colours and  patterns.  I try to have  them in different colourways so that they will fit in with existing schemes, and there are always my creamy linen and hemp sheets, hand-woven in France, which can be dyed to suit.      French  Art Nouveau designs of the 1880s are usually on a large scale and often based on medieval flowers and convoluted geometric shapes;  the Indiennes,  1860-1900, often have charming little birds, flowers and tropical foliage, based on Indian designs.  The Georgian period revivals, classic formal designs, often with strong floral borders, which came later, were printed or woven with great skill right up to the last war, usually of very superior quality, so they have lasted well.   I think one has to remember that the curtains that have survived best came from large houses where they were cared for and were kept behind blinds and shutters, or just stored away when they became unfashionable, They may need re-lining, or new trimmings where worn or damaged along the leading edges;  most are 8ft drop or more.  I know several seamstresses here in the Bath area, who will tackle any such job and they enjoy reviving the old things.  At present I have about 15 pairs in stock including some lovely designer modern ones (Pierre Frey) all hand -sewn and in very long lengths.   They are a huge saving on brand new ones.  Contact me by my Email for more info.
